REAL Housewives of Potomac star Katie Rost has called off her engagement to fiancé, Jesse.
The 39-year-old reality television star confirmed the split on her Instagram on Wednesday, just four months after he proposed.
“I honestly don’t know a good way to call off an engagement,” Rost wrote, sharing a grab of the story from Page Six.
She continued: “But page six did it for me. I feel nervous about posting this, but screw it, maybe it will make questions at holiday parties easier. So, there it is in an article for me, breaking it all down. #lchaim,” she said.
She had revealed the split to Page Six, telling them: “We’re broken up. It wasn’t anything too overly dramatic — it was more so like a car running out of gas.”
She told them that she and Jesse, whose last name has not been revealed, had a conversation right before Thanksgiving about what their future holds, but they appeared to be on different pages.
“He wanted certain things right away, and I was just, like, I have so many other things that I need to focus on, and so I need to pause,” she told them.
Rost, who shares three children - son, James Rocco, and twin daughters, Renee and Kathryn - with ex-husband James Orsini, said Jesse was interested in having children with her, but she wasn’t on the same page.
“I can’t do that again, so I needed to just wait,” she told Page Six. “I just don’t know if I want to go into straight-up wife mode right now.”
She's currently embroiled in a bitter custody battle with her ex-husband, Dr. James Orsini.
Rost said Jesse was more focused on wanting to start his own family with the RHOP star, and so she told him, “Oh, I have to deal with the children I already have.”
“I can’t do that again, so I needed to just wait,” she said, adding that she is also focused on her writing projects. “I just don’t know if I want to go into straight-up wife mode right now.”
The couple got engaged in July after just five months of dating.
The IT businessman proposed with an heirloom ring made of gold, sapphire and diamonds that belonged to his late mother.

At the time, the Bravo personality posted a close-up of her ring, which featured a sapphire in the centre, surrounded by two small diamonds on a gold band.
“An heirloom ring, and I said yes. We are engaged!” she captioned the photo of her bling. “Jesse’s mom loves this ring. I am proud to wear it.”
The ring had belonged to his late mother.
Rost and Jesse officially started dating at the end of February and they first appeared in a photo together on the RHOP star’s Instagram on March 29.
